We recognise the importance of all possible precautions being taken to ensure that, while in our care, young people are provided with a safe environment for all activities and events.
This is covered by a number of different areas for consideration.
Officer’s Qualifications and Training
All BB Officers undertake training when they become Officers and are then registered nationally. In addition, each Officer has to re-train every 5 years.
In addition, all Officers consent to their personal details being vetted for their suitability to work with children and young people.
Specialist training is also required to gain certificates for specific activities such as camping.
Consent Forms
At the start of each session, you will be given a consent form which authorises your son to take part in the weekly activities on the BB Company’s premises. It also provides us of contact details, along with medical information.
In addition, if separate activities are undertaken away from the premises, such as camping, a further special form is provided for your consent.
Insurance
Also at the start of each session, each BB Company has to submit Capitation Fees for each boy. This covers each boy’s registration as a member and part of it is a contribution for insurance.
With these measures in place, you can have peace of mind while your son enjoys the varied programme of activities in his BB Company.
